You will need to setup the redirect so the subdomain goes to the URL of the webmail program of your choice. That's it! Are you able to receive emails but not send?If you can receive mail but aren't able to send this means one thing:Your internet provider is blocking you from using anyone's outgoing mail servers but their own. Many major ISPs are blocking outgoing emails. The reason they do this is to prevent you from using their internet connection for spamming purposes. You will still be able to send emails, but only by using your ISP'S outgoing mail server. Every ISP's outgoing mail address is different, but for the most part they will be mail.yourispname.com For example, if you had hosting with AOL.com, their outgoing mail server would look like this: mail.aol.com If mail.yourisp.com does not work and you are still unable to send emails, you will need to call your internet service provider to find out what their outgoing mail server is. Why do some e-mails with attachments not work?1. The server is designed to block attachment types which are seen as a danger if they are not zipped up.Some attachment types that are blocked are: .bat .src .exe. The reason for this is that your mailbox would be flooded every day with viruses if this was not in place. A few attachments that are fine without zipping up are: .gif .jpg .html .pdf. Unfortunately, there is no way to turn this off so your only option is to zip your attachment or doing the below. 2. Another reason could be the size of the attachment if you're sending an attachment that is 10 MB or larger, it will fail due to the size. If you are sending it from webmail this limit is less than 2 MB. A better option to get around these limits would be to upload the file to your site and give out the link instead. You could even password protect so the public cannot view or access the file. Why cant I send my emails ?If you are receiving password errors when you are trying to send and receive email, make sure you are authenticating outgoing email. This is a separate option usually in your server config area of your email client. If the problem persists, this mean that either your password is wrong (you can be sure by checking the mail can be received or not) or there is a firewall blockage in your local network. Another reason maybe due to your email being blacklisted by the recipient who subsribe to spamming blacklist assocation. Why cant I receive my emails ?The emails may be blocked by anti-virus or firewall. Other possible reason include bad internet connection or the server may be down. What email clients you support ?We support all email clients that support POP3 and SMTP protocals. Common applications are outlook express, outlook, and eudora. We also support webmail and is accessible from any internet browser. How do I log into the mail server ?When you are logging into the server to send email, you must authenticate outgoing email. This is a separate option in your email client setup. To check, go to your email address properties, then go to your servers properties and make sure you are authenticating outgoing email. Also some clients support pop3 before smtp for logging into the email server. This option will stop some of the rcpthosts people receive. Why my email clients dont work after I install Anti-virus programs ?If you are getting sending and receiving errors you need to do the following:It comes from interference from a Virus Scan software, like Norton or McAfee. The error in the body of the message is: No transport provider was available for delivery to this recipient. CAUSE There are several reasons for this error message. They include: A damaged Personal folder. No mail transport service in the mail profile. You are using the CompuServe mail transport. You upgraded your MSN Mail from Classic to POP3/SMTP. A damaged contact. An apostrophe in your computer name. The mail server is expecting the addresses to be enclosed in angle (<>) brackets. The E-mail Type in the addressee's Personal Address Book entry is invalid. Anti-Spam software on the SMTP server of your current Internet Service Provider (ISP) which blocks messages from a different ISP address. No Delivery or Address Type for Microsoft Mail Service SOLUTION To determine which of these causes is producing the error message in your case, see the troubleshooting articles in the "More Information" section. A Damaged Personal Folder in the Corporate Workgroup Installation NOTE: The following steps apply if you use the Corporate Workgroup installation. See the next section for steps for the Internet Mail installation. Remove the Personal Folder from your mail profile and add a new one by following these steps: Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. Double-click the Mail and Fax icon. Click to select the Personal Folder, and then click Remove and Yes. Click Add. Click to select Personal Folders and click OK. Type a name for the folder and then click Open, OK, and OK. NOTE: All mail messages, contacts, tasks, journal entries, appointments, and so forth will remain in your old Personal Folder (pst). If you import information from your old pst to the new pst, damaged information may also be imported. A Damaged Personal Folder in the Internet Mail Installation NOTE: The following steps apply if you use the Internet Mail installation. See the previous section for steps for the Corporate Workgroup installation. On the File menu, point to New, and click Personal Folders File (.pst). Select a location to store the file, type a unique name in the File Name box, and click Create. Select the desired options in "Create Microsoft Personal Folders" and click OK. On the View menu, click Folder List (if it is not already displayed). Click the new Personal Folder file in the Folder List. On the File menu, point to Folder, and click "Properties for 'Personal Folder.'" Click to select "Deliver POP mail to this personal folders file," and then click OK. No Mail Transport Service in the Mail Profile Note: The following steps apply if you use the Corporate Workgroup installation. Add the proper mail transport to your mail profile by following these steps: Click Start, point to Settings and click Control Panel. Double-click the Mail and Fax icon. Click Add, and then click to select the mail transport service you wish to install. Click OK. Enter the information as requested for the mail transport you are installing. You Upgraded Your MSN Mail From Classic to POP3/SMTP Change the e-mail type from MSN (or MSNINET) to SMTP by following these steps: Open a contact, right-click the E-mail address and on the shortcut menu click Properties. Click the Address tab and next to E-mail Type, type SMTP. Click Save and Close to close the contact. An e-mail type of MSN and MSNINET will not be recognized as a valid e-mail type with the Internet mail transport. Thus the error is generated. A Damaged Contact To delete and re-create the contact, follow these steps: In the Contact folder, click to select the damaged contact. On the Edit menu, click Delete, or press CTRL+D. On the Actions menu, click New Contact. Enter the information into the Contact form and then click Save and Close. An Apostrophe in Your Computer Name To remove the apostrophe from your computer name, follow these steps: In Control Panel, double-click the Network icon. On the Identification tab, type a new name for your computer without the apostrophe. Mail Server Expects addresses to be in angle brackets Some SMTP servers require that addresses be enclosed in angle brackets. This is particularly true for older mail server systems. In addition, your e-mail name, which is defined in the Internet E-Mail information service properties, must also be enclosed in angle brackets. For Example the e-mail addresses should have this format: Check with your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for their addressing requirements. For other people with newer servers to be able to reply to your messages, you must type your e-mail name in the Reply Name box without angle brackets. Invalid E-mail Type in the Addressee's Personal Address Book Entry On the Tools menu, click Address Book. In the "Show names from the" drop-down list, click to select Personal Address Book. Double-click the entry for the addressee in question. Correct the entry in the E-mail type field. Anti-Spam Software on the SMTP Server This security solution prevents e-mail which contains a foreign ISP address from passing through its server. It only allows its server name to be transmitted. Disconnect from this ISP and connect to the ISP whose address appears in your e-mail messages. No Delivery or Address Type for Microsoft Mail Service If you are using Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup (CW) setup option and the Microsoft Mail service is in your profile, this problem can occur if the delivery options or address type settings are incorrect. Click Show Profiles if you have more than one profile. On the General tab, click to select your Microsoft Mail profile, and then click Properties. On the Services tab, click to select Microsoft Mail and then click Properties. Login to your control panel and setup the email size inside.View Flash Tutorials For How to create a email account >> Why do I get bounced mail which i never sent? Many spammers and viruses will automatically select random email addresses to send emails out to (to promote their product or to infect people's computers). They will also randomly select addresses in the same way to claim the email is being sent from that address (known as Email Spoofing). This is done to make the claimed sender address appear (or actually be) more legitimate and look less suspicious.Unfortunately, the spammers use open relays (servers that don't require authentication) to send emails through, and viruses often use their own built-in SMTP servers to send the viruses out from. Thus, as the fraudulent emails originate from another source, we have no way to prevent this from happening, nor do you. If you are unsure if you are infected with a virus, you should obtain the most up to date anti-virus software to run a check on your system just to be safe (especially if you use Outlook on Windows, as that is the most popular email program for email virus writers). Also, you should always use well chosen passwords for your account and email that are not based on dictionary words or are easy to guess or otherwise are simple, which will prevent your email accounts from ever being compromised just for such reasons. NOTE: The best method to prevent bounced emails from spammers and viruses, is to disable catch-all email in your control panel. |
